Your Hosting Team

Dave Ellis is a Principal Consultant at Dave Ellis Consulting, LLC, a group dedicated to using Art of Hosting Conversations That Matter patterns and practices for strategic planning and community engagement. He is a 2013 Bush Foundation Leadership Fellow focusing on trauma using the N.E.A.R science (neuroscience, epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES), resilience, resilience with a focus on African American men and boys. Dave has hosted and provided traning and discussions with groups ranging from 10 to 800 participants on topics from strategic planning for communities and nonprofits to community engagement with state and other agencies. He has been exploring the impact of early childhood trauma on adult issues and been instrumental in conversations on race, power and privilege in Minnesota. Aditionally, he is a certified master trainer in N.E.A.R. Science, A Community Resilience Coach and Global Steward in the Art of Hosting. Ellis was a Community Impact Partnership Manager at Greater Twin Cities United Way for over 5 years, developing a community driven, 9-county wide response to domestic violence and homelessness. Ellis facilitates community and agency strategic planning sessions utilizing processes based in the Art of Hosting Conversations That Matter. He has participated in and served as a consulting producer with tptMN on 2 documentaries, is a published author and photographer.

Barbara (Bob-e) Simpson Epps has spent a lifetime working to enhance the operations and effectiveness of organizations in both the public and private sectors. Bob-e is a Bush Fellow and engages others in creating system-wide, community-based and culturally-specific approaches to address trauma- and stress-induced health issues in the lives of African American and American Indian children and families using the N.E.A.R science (neuroscience, epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES), resilience and brain research. In addition she speaks and trains on historical trauma multi-generational and inter-generational with a focus on African American women. She is trained in Diversity Assessment/Management Training, Anti-Racism Training, Cultural Audit/Assessment, Frameworks (public policy marketing), The Sanctuary Model (SELF care for organizations), as a Master NEAR (neurobiology, epigenetics, ACES, resilience) Trainer, Master Community Resilience Coach and Global Art of Hosting Steward (processes and practices which she uses to create environments for meaningful conversations with individuals and groups). Bob-e writes on her blog “Every Day is A Do Over” and is a columnist for the Minnesota Spokesman Recorder.

Diana-Christine Teodorescu, MA, LMFT, RPT-S, CPCC has worked with people and organizations in a variety of settings since 1997. She utilizes a strengths-based, collaborative perspective, incorporating systems and transformational leadership development theories. She has worked with trauma; and, integrates an attachment-attunement, neuroscience, human development, and systems based perspective. Specialty areas include strategic planning, process facilitation; leadership, management, personnel, and program development; instructional design; cultural competence; coaching; and peace mediation. Creativity and imagination are essential adjunctive tools that are incorporated. In addition, she consults, teaches, and provides training in educational systems, communities, and businesses entities, locally and nationally.

Dave, Bob-e and Diana have worked together over the past few years bringing their experience and continued co-learning with each other and with participants. They each bring a depth of knowledge around trauma, and a richness to practices and patterns of participatory leadership. Together they offer different worldviews, depth of experience and perspectives to the conversations, offering multiple entry points into how to put practice into action, making it more possible and alive for others to see themselves in the work.
