Community Violence has been identified as a public health issue in the city of Philadelphia and across the state. Engaging youth in discussions that focus on Community Violence is a critical component of the problem solving process and solutions driven, youth guided, community-building work that is supported by we.REIGN, Inc. Our free, two day workshop (March 24 and March 31) is designed to engage Black girls who live and attend high-school in the city of Philadelphia in the process of Systems Thinking with a focus on Community Violence.
Our goal is to support girls in developing a better understanding of Community Violence, its causes, overall impact on our communities and the systems that support Community Violence. We will conclude by developing recommendations for tackling this pervasive community issue using a Systems Thinking lens. we.REIGN, Inc. is hosting Thinking About Community Violence in collaboration with Jefferson University, East Falls Campus professor Dr. Radika Bhaskar.
we.REIGN, Inc is a Philadelphia based 501(c)(3) organization committed to creating and supporting safe spaces where Black girls are visible, such that their strengths, needs, voices and stories are centered as they define themselves, for themselves, practice living unapologetically and develop the skills needed to become advocates & change agents in their own lives and communities.
