Transforming Refugee Mental Health: Improving the Legal Treatment of Refugees and Asylum Seekers through Science

U.C. Davis Medical Education Building, Lecture Hall 1222

Join our panel discussion to identify ways in which legal treatment of (re)traumatized refugees and asylum seekers could improve through greater interprofessional knowledge and collaboration between legal, and health practitioners, and researchers.

The Forum will share the findings of our 2018 Focus Groups and will explore how legal knowledge could inform health professionals or researchers who treat or study refugee and asylum seekers and, vice versa, how neuroscience, psychology, and psychiatry could inform lawyers and the legal system to improve treatment, adjudication, and advocacy.
