Trauma and Resilience Informed Systems (TRIS) in Pediatric Primary Care

This free webinar will provide attendees with an overview of principles of trauma and resilience informed systems and explore how individuals, teams, and organizations can embody these principles. We will explore three questions that guide both self-reflection and organizational readiness for transformation: 

1. Know – what do we need to know? Participants will know what principles anchor the TRIS framework, and what a trauma-informed systems looks, sounds, and feels like in practice. 
2. Be – who do we need to be? Participants will consider ways to embody the principles in their rollout of a TRIS framework. 
3. Do – what do we need to do? Participants will reflect on what implementation might look like in their own contexts. 

Attendees will leave this webinar with examples of how TRIS has been implemented in clinical settings as well as concrete tools and strategies for being more trauma and resilience informed.

Background – A growing awareness around the impact of trauma on people’s health and life outcomes has underscored the need for trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to working with patients and communities. Though trauma-informed care is gaining traction in healthcare, trauma-informed organizational change is relatively new. In a time when our workforce is depleted, our organizations are stretched thin, and the emotional and physical needs of the community are greatly elevated, systemic organizational change is necessary.  

Center for Care Innovations (CCI) and Trauma Transformed have collaborated for 5 years to provide Trauma and Resilience Informed Systems (TRIS) training to clinics in Resilient Beginnings. The training has been a foundational step in clinics’ transformation efforts and in their journey away from being trauma inducing and toward being healing, trauma reducing organizations.
