Dr. Felitti, co-principal investigator of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE study), an ongoing collaborative research between the Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program and the Centers for Disease Control, will present the riveting findings on the impact of early childhood traumatic experiences and the correlation to mental, physical, and emotional challenges people face across the lifespan. Dr. Felitti will explain the profound relationship of ten categories of adverse life experiences in childhood to health, well-being, disease and death decades later. The findings of the ACE Study continue to inform mental health, substance abuse, primary care and all human services on the importance of looking through a trauma-informed lens.
