This certification workshop, taught by Connection Coalition's Marisol Tamez is for anyone who would like to provide outreach yoga programming at schools, shelters, rehab facilities, or through other non- profit organizations. Working with these populations require special skills and approaches so that you can connect with the participants.

The Connection Coalition (aka CoCo) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit which offers programming throughout the country in schools, youth centers, rehab centers, shelters and other non-profit organizations. CoCo has connected with over 17,000 kids and trained more than 1700 volunteer teachers across the US! CoCo is always seeking emerging leaders in existing and new markets who share the desire to collaborate with youth organizations in order to bring access to yoga, meditation and mindfulness. Certified yoga teachers are welcome as well as yoga lovers who want to connect (yoga teacher certification is NOT required to join our team for volunteer programming)

Training Facilitator: Marisol Tamez
Now based in Los Angeles, Marisol Tamez has been with the CoCo family since 2011, during which she served as the organization’s Executive Director until 2013. Her time in this multi-faceted role provided hands-on experience in various areas of nonprofit management, which helped to catapult the organization to national recognition by producing grassroots fundraising events yielding more than $140,000, while mobilizing a pool of over 200 trained volunteers in schools, shelters, foster homes and rehab centers throughout South Florida.
In 2017, Marisol's deep passion for service led her back home as CoCo’s Community Manager, now booking, marketing and leading the organization's Trauma Informed trainings across the US, while empowering National Street Teams in their outreach efforts. Her diverse roles in CoCo’s growth enables her to be a wealth of information for trainees eager to translate their inner fire to be of service into a passion-fueled action plan.
She combines her BA in Psychology & Criminology from her hometown alma-mater, The University of Miami, along with a near decade long career as a TV Host, Writer & Producer, ensuring an experience that is not only grounded in mind-body science, but also creative and entertaining for students from all walks of life.
