A Trauma Sensitive Approach Yin+Mindfulenss involves a deeper study of our relationship to our anchors of awareness when in stillness using breath in our bodies , the ground beneath and the felt sense of our bodies while in each still shape. As we begin to attune ourselves to our relationship to stillness using our anchors of awareness, we can begin to make empowered choices within our mindfulness and yin yin shape to find our own personal sense of ease and balance with props, change in position or pace of breath.
A Trauma Sensitive Approach to Mindfulness +Yin follows these principles:
1. Feel free to choose a meditation position that feels the most intuitive and comfortable to you.
2. You are free to explore a variety of awareness anchors to stay in the present moment:
3. your breath, 5 senses, the ground beneath you, sitting against a wall behind you or perhaps listening to music
4. We learn to view our internal world through the lens of the Window of Tolerance/Polyvagal theory
5. We aim for this space to be a space a place to practice non-judgement, kindness and compassion.
6. You are free to keep your eyes open within the practice.
7. Learning to make an empowered choice based on our present moment needs is encouraged and offered within the class offering.
