What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you think of gender? Do you think of cis heteronormative male and female genders? Or do you think about the complexities that gender encompasses? While gender stereotypes can be off-putting there is value in their analysis. What can our own internal gender biases look like in different settings? How does it play out? Whether our biases show up in our daily life tasks, in the workplace, or other social environments there is value in understanding them and their origin. Within this workshop through structured and thoughtful conversations, participants will be given the opportunity to begin to process their own internal gender biases.
In this workshop, we will develop strategies to keep our biases in check in order to be more open-minded and affirming with everyone we interact with.
