[Webinar] Addressing Marginalization: Redirecting Strategies of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace

In this complimentary SSIR Live! webinar, we will critically examine contemporary discussions around diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Three leaders from three related sectors — international nonprofits, social impact consulting, and technology/information activism — will join hands to unpack key complex issues related to addressing marginalization in organizations, such as welcoming different lived experiences, creating belonging, and halting assimilation.
This webinar will review the costs of doing “business-as-usual DEI,” including the forced assimilation processes within organizations that may be hidden or poorly understood. It will further open up a space for reimagining a solution to the historically-grounded, neocolonial roots of marginalization, and offer guidelines for shifting power imbalances and dynamics, by celebrating plurality in individuals’ values, skills, and behaviors, and eventually breaking away from archaic technocratic and managerial approaches to organizational processes.
