The Illinois ACEs Response Collaborative invites you to our free webinar, Screening for Adverse Childhood Experiences in the Pediatric Primary Care Setting: Practical Considerations and Lessons Learned, on March 30, 2018 at 9:00 AM CDT.
Our webinar presenter will be Kavitha Selvaraj, MD, MPH, MAEd, FAAP. In 2015, Dr. Selvaraj and a multidisciplinary team of physicians, psychologists, social workers, and researchers created a Chicago-wide toxic stress collaborative network across pediatric clinics at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital, Rush University Medical Center, and John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County. Together, they created the Addressing Social Key (ASK) Questions for Health Questionnaire, a novel 13-item screening tool for both adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and unmet social needs (USN), and they conducted a large multi-site study to examine the efficacy, feasibility, and acceptability of universal ACE/USN screening using the ASK Questionnaire during well-child visits. In this webinar, Dr. Selvaraj will share lessons learned from this massive screening initiative and discuss practical considerations for other fields interested in ACEs screening and management.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar. We also invite participants to join us in live tweeting the webinar with #ILACEs and to follow us @HMPRG.
