Topics at the seminar will include: a) learning typical grief and trauma reactions and the difference between the two; b) finding specific ways to educate parents and caregivers in how they can help their traumatized child and his or her family; c) utilizing hands-on activities to calm anxieties; d) identifying trauma effects on behavior and learning; and e) reframing of behaviors to promote resiliency, relationship and post-traumatic growth. There will be a breakout lunch for CCHO community stakeholders in order to dialogue about trauma-informed treatment and to consider serving on our trauma-informed committee.
