Part one of this two-part virtual event series will begin the conversation by going beyond the headlines to explore what we really know about parents struggling with substance use disorder and its impacts on the health and mental health of their unborn and very young children. What do young children with prenatal exposure disorders need to support their recovery and healthy development? As professionals, how do we best observe, engage, and support these fragile families? Presenters will explore the highly complex nature of this dangerous and often deadly addiction, and how understanding the pathways to it, along with informed approaches to treatment, are vital to promoting best outcomes for young children.
