Is your work with youth and young adults trauma-informed or trauma-denied?
“Trauma–informed" individuals and agencies are aware of the causes and effects of trauma. They understand the potential of re-traumatizing youth and their families by how their services are delivered or by interacting in a manner that is not sensitive to their life experiences.
Participating in this workshop will help professionals move from asking “What is wrong with this young person?” to a trauma-informed approach that recognizes troublesome behaviors as ways of coping with or adapting to painful current circumstances or past traumatic events. The trauma-informed question becomes: "What has happened to this young person?"
This is a FREE training.
