With us today will be Mr. Mark Nicoll, Dr. Kenneth Niles, Queen Mother Dianne Sears and Dr. Joanne Spence. Dr. Spence will do double-duty as moderator for this afternoon's discussion.

Their bios are below so you will have some context about them and their experience.

Dr. Kenneth Niles

Dr. Kenneth Niles, is Chief Executive Officer and President Immanuel Ministries International (I.M.I.L.) and HIS Global Concepts – a consultancy company.

He is a certified mediator in Trinidad and Tobago and a coach in Mediation Training Programmes. This Counselling Psychologist, Family Counsellor and Therapist has also attained the Master of Science in Mediation Studies at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine, Trinidad. He presently is an adjunct lecturer at the University of the Southern Caribbean and also at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine.

Dr. Niles has also lectured at several fora on varying subjects, such as Stress and Anger Management, Crisis Intervention and Conflict Management in the Workplace throughout the Caribbean, North America and Europe.

He has also developed a programme in Anger Management for the female inmates at the Women’s Facility Golden Grove, Trinidad. Recently, he developed the Restorative Intervention Programme for Secondary Schools which focuses on the development of the student and the involved stakeholders morally, socially and spiritually.

Mark Nicoll

Mark Nicoll has been practicing social work for the past 39 years. He has worked with communities across Canada, including small isolated communities across the Northwest Territories.

A Gottman trained leader, Mark facilitated men’s group on relationships in Central Alberta to deliver 3 cycles of workshops on relationship skills for men. Mark also coordinated 40 Family Violence collective agencies to deliver Family Violence services to families in Edmonton.

Prior to migrating from Canada, Mark was able to contribute significantly to building Edmonton’s collective capacity in response to serious social issues.

Since moving to the Cayman Islands in 2018, Mark has volunteered with a number of non-profits and is currently  part of a UNICEF funded project in the eastern Caribbean to improve social protection.

Dianne Sears

QUEEN MOTHER DIANE AISHA SEARS is an At-Large Member of the United Nations Association of the United States of America; and moderator of a Global Men’s Issues Think Tank on LinkedIn.

She is also the Editor/Author of In Search Of Fatherhood®--Transcending Boundaries, and a Contributing Author to a groundbreaking research book on Fatherhood titled, Engaging And Working With African American Fathers – Strategies And Lessons Learned, edited by DR. LATRICE S ROLLINS and published in December 2020 by Taylor and Francis.

From 2009 through 2020, Diane served as the United States Coordinator for International Men’s Day and a member of its Global Planning Committee and its Africa Group. In July 2020, in recognition of her 2 decades of work on Fatherhood and Men’s Issues, Diane was bestowed the title of Queen Mother, House of Houetchi, Ouidah, Benin Republic, Africa.

Among her other portfolios, Diane is a member of the University Council for Fatherhood and Men’s Studies at Akamai University in Hilo, Hawaii and Managing Editor of a quarterly Fatherhood and Men’s Issues Journal and blog — IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD®

She credits much of her work to the influence of her mentor , the late L.T. HENRY, who created the concept for IN SEARCH OF FATHERHOOD®.

Dr. Joanne Spence

Dr Joanne Spence is a Behaviour change consultant and chief consultant at the Therapeutic Assessment Centre. She is the author of five books and is as Lecturer at two universities and heads the Social Work department at the Caribbean Nazarene College. Her training and experience spans over 25 years in areas of human capacity development.

She is the Trinidad and Tobago Ambassador of ‘sheisstilldope’ network and the founder and President of the Mentoring Centre of Trinidad and Tobago. Dr Spence was inducted into the Oxford Society of Scholars and is a Research fellow.

Dr Spence serves on the cabinet appointed committee to review SEA and Concordat 2021 and is a member of the Board of Directors at the Youth Training and Employment Partnership Programme (YTEPP).
