Good Monday morning everyone.
In case you missed it, ACEs Caribbean Community had our inaugural online event yesterday (16th May 2021) in honour of both Mental Health Awarenesses Month and World Day of the Boy Child with a discussion on "ACEs & The Boy Child".
Despite technical challenges, we persevered and those who logged in for the livestream received wisdom from our experienced team of speakers.
The discussion included our two ACEs Caribbean Community Managers, Adrian Alexander and Juleus Ghunta, valued Community member, Mark Nicoll and two guests - Dr. Kenneth Niles (a counselling psychologist) and Dr. Jerome Teelucksingh (university lecturer and founder of World Day of the Boy Child).
We look forward to having more interaction with Drs. Teelucksingh and Niles and to see how they can add the important work of ACEs and PACEs science to their existing body of work.
Many YouTube attendees were unaware of the Adverse Childhood Experiences study of 1998, modern ACEs/PACEs science and their benefits to inform social policy.
In expressing their gratitude for the information, they insisted that more education is needed and a hope that national policies and guidelines can be impacted by this research.
The following images show some of the comments we received from attendees via YouTube.
