The Office of Resilience (OOR) seeks to endorse strengthening collaborations, expanding local resources, and building the capacity to provide resources and supports to communities through faith-based efforts. The OOR intends to engage statewide faith-based leaders in the hopes of exploring and fostering potential partnerships.

The goal of the symposium is to support faith leaders in creating a roadmap for existing and future efforts. This gathering is designed to foster relationships, build collaboration among statewide faith leaders, strengthen existing partnerships, build capacity by unifying language and understanding of community needs, and create a network of resources. Upon leaving the symposium, leaders will be in a position to create new partnerships, share information, and strengthen community knowledge.

To achieve and maintain long-term and sustainable connections, it is important that community leaders begin with identification and prioritization of most significant areas of need. Following the symposium, a faith-based working group will be organized to ensure the community’s voice is being heard and efforts are solution-based. This workgroup will utilize this platform to subsequently educate and support other faith leaders on programs, strategies, interventions, and resources.
