Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Toolkit (Emerging Minds, 2020)
"This toolkit contains information, advice and practical tools for individuals and professionals who work with, or care for, children who have had adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)...The resources in this toolkit are grouped according to differing professional and personal contexts in which ACEs issues may arise. The aim of these resources is to support individuals’ and professionals’ understandings of ACEs and their impacts, and to facilitate the building of children’s resilience to avoid these negative impacts."

The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Survey Toolkit for Providers (The National Crittenton Foundation, 2015)

The toolkit aims to help services providers give a survey about traumatic childhood experiences that are linked to negative effects on health and well-being. It offers recommendations about the Adverse Childhood Experiences survey, including how to talk to children and parents about the survey, track results and use the data for public education and policy advocacy. The toolkit also includes a sample protocol, case studies and testimonials from women who took the survey.

123 A Trauma Sensitive Toolkit for Caregivers of Children (Spokane Regional Health District, 2015)

Public health nurses at Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) developed this toolkit for caregivers of children. Caregivers are defined broadly to include parents, grandparents, child care providers, teachers, and others who care for children daily. This toolkit is intended to support caregivers on their journey towards trauma sensitivity, including brain development, ACEs, resilience, attachment, emotional regulation, cues, and repair. It is organized by topic, each offering a brief overview, specific tools that can be used with children, and where to find more information. Also included are handouts that can be used as teaching aids.

Taming the Dragons: Helping Children Cope: Ages Birth to Twelve Years (Sue Delucchi, WA)

Developed in a crisis nursery in Washington state, Taming the Dragons is a training manual for parents, foster parents, and kinship caregivers. Includes ACEs, feelings, mind and body awareness, behaviors, needs, triggers, transitions, and self regulation techniques for children and caregivers. Available in English and Spanish.
