There are plenty of myths and facts on the topic of transracial adoption, including who transracial adoptees are, pathways into transracial adoption, and the practices and policies that shape it today. Join us for a look at a few of the common experiences of race and racism faced by transracial adoptive families and people who are transracially adopted, and at issues unique to sub-groups within the community. We'll consider transracial adoption as a unique context in which children learn about race, ethnicity and culture, and what this might mean for parental socialization within and beyond families.
