The Connecticut Women's Consortium strives to provide the best quality behavioral health education across all platforms. As with any online activity, the quality of our virtual trainings is heavily dependent on participants' individual internet connectivity; if available to you, we strongly suggest hard-wiring to your internet connection for the duration of the training. In addition, we urge you to access your virtual training utilizing a laptop or desktop computer, as mobile devices such as smart phones and iPads may lead to a diminished experience. All virtual courses count toward your in-person continuing education credit. Virtual trainings are hosted through GoToMeeting and the link to attend as well as any relevant handouts will be emailed to registered participants a minimum of 2 business days ahead of the training. In purchasing a virtual training, you are acknowledging that you have read and understand the information above. For more information or to request assistance contact the Education & Training department at training@womensconsortium.org.
Trainers: Qur-an Webb, MSW and Marcus Stallworth, LMSW
This training will highlight the importance of engagement with fathers and father figures, with an emphasis on shifting from the “Mother Focused” to the “Full Family Engagement Model". Our training will provide information and education to identify and eliminate personal and professional barriers that might interfere with father involvement. Impactful breakout sessions on co-parenting, engaging mothers as gatekeepers, child support and paternity legal rights, parenting skills for young fathers, and empowerment, will be fostered.
