Once you find the WHY
Then you can find the WHAT
WHY the behaviour
WHAT I NEED TO DO
In order to address a problem In order to address a behaviour
You need to find out WHY it is happening
That requires a thorough ecological assessment
The collection of evidence from a number of sources
Analysing the evidence
To see if it matches If the evidence does not match
You have to go and find more evidence
TRUTH is when you get the same message
From all sources
When you have the TRUTH
Then you can identify all the contributing factors
Then you can find out WHAT ACTIONS TO TAKE TO ADDRESS THE BEHAVIOUR
The ACTIONS require the STRENGTHS and RESOURCES
That are available
you then use the STRENGTHS and RESOURCES
To formulate a SOLUTION
This is so very important for all the professionals working WITH our CHILDREN
There is no room for CONFIRMATION BIAS YET
I have discovered that professionals are using CONFIRMATION BIAS
To blame parents for the behaviour that their children demonstrate
They then use their biased analysis
To tear the mother from their child
Causing significant harm to both
Mother and child
Confirmation bias has no place in best practice
For all those agencies supporting professionals working At the grassroots
You all need to get together and find a solution
To build the capacity of all professionals
Working with our children and their whanau
So that those professionals are supported
To do best practice
This applies to ALL professionals
