Florida has the third highest rate of human trafficking in the nation, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated these numbers in our local Central Florida community.
As members of our local Central Florida PACE community, we know the short and long-term implications of trauma—human trafficking well included in the umbrella of complex traumas.
The Tri-County Alliance on Human Trafficking, also known as the Alliance, or “village,” is a collection of leaders, experts, service providers and community members that are fighting human trafficking across many sectors, and they recently offered a comprehensive, “one-hour” human trafficking awareness training module in an on-line platform from the Florida Alliance to End Human Trafficking Training.
Not only is this training free, it is also virtual so you can access it at your leisure whenever you would like to participate!
For those needing CE hours, this training is also applicable for many sectors.
This is a great opportunity to continue our understanding of such a prevalent violence in our community, enhance our trauma-informed approach to survivors and become better allies to those in the movement.
