Participants will be able gain a deeper understanding of anger and its root causes, view anger through a trauma perspective, understand how anger impacts parenting, learn ways to cope with anger, know that anger isn’t the problem, how one responds to anger is the concern. Also, participants will be able to identify and understand the various types of anger management programs.
Participants will learn:
• How to identify when anger is a problem
• Understanding anger through a trauma lens (ACES & Trauma Informed care)
• Seeing anger and responding with compassion
• How anger impacts parenting and ways to be more effective
• Anger under COVID 19 conditions
• Anger as it relates to child abuse and neglect
• Kids get mad too/ways to cope
• How anger management groups differ from BIP/Batterer’s Intervention groups
• How group anger classes vs. one-to-one curriculums differ
• The difference between conflict resolution and anger management
• The 5 S’s and how they impact people
• Considerations of factors that may impact management of anger
• Tools in the toolbelt/Coping skills for managing anger
• Case studies & a Ted Talk
