CTIPP-CAN Meeting - Trauma-Informed Educational Initiatives (6/16; 2:00 – 3:30 pm ET/11 am-12:30 pm PT):
This month, the first three presenters will be administrators or retired administrators who implemented trauma-informed practices at schools in three very different communities, all of which suffered from the effects of historical trauma, ACEs, and poverty. The last presenter is the founder and executive director of a nonprofit called the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint.
Donna Manueito, the Assistant Superintendent at the San Carlos Apache Unified Public School District in Arizona.
Ann Mahi, the now-retired superintendent at the Nanakuli-Waianae School Complex in a Native Hawiian community on O'ahu.
Godwin Higa, the now-retired principal at the Cherokee Point Elementary School, located in an inner-city, low-income community in San Diego.
Guy Stephens, the Founder and Executive Director for the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint.
