You are invited to join Rachel Allen, Director of the Peace and Justice Institute at Valencia College; Glen Gilzean, CEO of the CF Urban League; and Dr. Joel Hunter, Founder and Chairman of the Community Resource Network, for the virtual K-Ready Community Rally and the screening of No Small Matter on July 22nd from 9-10:30 AM!
No Small Matter is the first feature documentary to lay out the overwhelming evidence for the importance of the first five years in a child’s life and to reveal how our failure to act on that evidence has resulted in an everyday crisis for families and a catastrophe for our communities. The Becoming a K-Ready Community Project is a collective impact effort and a growing alliance in Orange County committed to a future where ALL children have access to high-quality early care and education.
What COVID19 has reminded us is that childcare and early education are essential. In fact, our workforce, our economy, and our entire society do not work without it! An investment NOW in quality early care and education for ALL children enables parents to return to work; builds a more skilled workforce; saves billions of dollars down the road in social services, mental and physical healthcare costs, and criminal justice costs; and is the most effective way to address chronic poverty and racial inequity at the start.
Now, as we begin to recover, it’s time to choose a new future, to make children and families a priority, and to rebuild better! Attend the rally to learn more about the collective action we are taking in Orange County to Become a K-Ready Community and how you can and should get involved.

- Register for the Rally and share with others. The event is free, but space is limited.
- Watch No Small Matter. Once you register, you will receive a link a few days prior to the event. Watch it!
- Attend the Rally at 9:00 am on July 22nd . Learn and engage with other community leaders committed to a better future!
