Every week, more than 10,000 prisoners are released from U.S. prisons and begin the long process of reintegrating into society.

For many, a successful reintegration will occur only if they can access the types of credit commonly used by all American citizens, such as credit cards and auto loans. For those unable to borrow, prospects for successful re-entry fall and recidivism risks rise. That’s bad for all of us.

Lack of access to credit can push former inmates into poverty traps and cycles of criminal behavior that hurts us all, but there are solutions that can change that.

I too am an ex-offender and when I got out of prison...I cleaned up my credit, bought a home, started a non-profit, finished school, received a Masters and 2 State of WA, Dept of Health licenses to provide Therapist guidance in Mental Health & Addiction.
I also started this journey after I swallowed a 1/4 ounce of crack cocaine and called on God to save me, after 9 days out of Prison.

I spent 17 months in a Faith-based program which was a Christian-based Behavior Modification Treatment Program.
It all started after I woke-up from OD..ing in intensive care, on an oxygen ventilator when they ask me if I could move my fingers or toes and I couldn't because I was now paralyzed.. off Crack Cocaine I swallowed while fighting with the Police for a Trumped-up Jay walking charge.
