The $103,000 agreement approved by the district’s school board Sept. 29 will put a case worker and either a licensed professional counselor or a licensed clinical social worker on the Brazos High and Middle School Credit Recovery Center and the GL Wiley Opportunity Center campuses, according to district documents. The Recovery Center offers a flexible, self-paced schedule for students who are at risk of dropping out, and the Opportunity Center serves students who have had behavioral issues on their home campus. Klaras is a local mental health authority that assists children and adolescents, ages 3 through 17, who experience significant emotional or behavioral difficulties.
