Consider the premise that to take "compassion to scale" it will take all of us being ambassadors of compassion. The most recent high profile events involving prominent athletes in the NFL have garnered widespread attention that transcends all the silos of our society - and what shines through to me is that as horrible as these situations are (and all situations even remotely like them) is that this provides evidence there is an inherent recognition that permeates society that there is no substitute for compassion.
Fame is not a substitute. Physical prowess is no match for compassion. Titles, awards, and trophies are simply tin when placed in contrast to the solid gold of the love of a safe, caring and competent adult in the life of a child or adolescent.
It is worth mentioning that there is an organization working to help raise awareness of topics around resiliency, develop "coaches of compassion", work in school systems regardless of their context, and invites celebrity athletes/team owners/philanthropists to leverage their assets on behalf of children and youth - the Ambassadors of Compassion. Perhaps you were already aware of their existence or efforts - perhaps not. It would be a shame for you to not be aware of the work they are doing with those who "get it" and are working constructively to help students believe, achieve, and win at life.

If you are "not into football" (or any professional sport for that matter) one thing is for sure - you are a "fan of children." You're probably already an ambassador for a movement of compassion from within your own specific role.
Please consider such organizations as the Ambassadors of Compassion as you explore constructive ways to promote resiliency, equip educators and educational leaders, and look for ways to bring community assets and relationships into "the schoolhouse" in your area - and develop great coaches of learners who go on to greatness, excellence, compassionate living, and "victory" in life!
