As educators prepare to return to school buildings for hybrid and in-person learning, there are going to be a lot of rules and structures in place for safety. Within the context of important safety protocols and regulations, we want young people to know they belong and matter in our schools. There are important questions to pause and ask ourselves:
- How do you build community and invite in student voice?
- How can you and your students get regulated and connected enough to focus on learning?
- As you build community, how can you empower students to help problem-solve these questions?
During our Trauma-Responsive School Transition workshop, we will share specific tools and strategies to invite student contribution, build community, develop routines, and maintain self-regulation in our new context. You will have an opportunity to brainstorm solutions with peers and will benefit from the ideas of educators from around the country. Register ASAP to reserve your place.
