This webinar took place on March 28, 2018. Description, video recording, and PDF of presentation slides are below:
Schools play a crucial role in responding to the impacts of violence, poverty and other types of trauma that students frequently encounter by providing appropriate supports and services. Awareness around the powerful effects of trauma on health and learning is creating opportunities for greater access to behavioral health care and other services in school-based settings.
This webinar will introduce the trauma, health and learning connection. Speakers will discuss examples of successful practices on the state-level within California and explain why trauma-informed schools matter for health equity, learning and achievement. This webinar will also provide an overview of the role that Medicaid plays in school-based services reimbursement, and we will end the session with a robust Q&A discussion.
