Join certified trainer, Jen McCormick, LICSW, ART for a 4-hour training that will be focused on Art with Heart's curriculum and therapeutic activity book developed for younger elementary-aged kids called Magnificent Marvelous Me!(MMMe). Magnificent Marvelous Me! is a therapeutic activity book designed to help kids dealing with trauma or adversity. MMMe encourages the exploration of complex emotions that go hand-in-hand with developmental challenges. Filled with social emotional learning activities, kids will learn strategies to build healthy connections and communication through creative expression. During this training, you will explore the MMMe curriculum through a few art activities, discussion, and implementation that will have you set up to use our resources with kids right away.
Objectives:
- Learn how to use AwH resources to facilitate a creative expression program
- Identify best practices for leading creative expression activities with kids
- Build comfort using a variety of art materials and methods
- Understand and experience how creative expression helps kids name and manage their emotions, develop strategies for coping, and build resilience for long term health and happiness
