As educators, our jobs can be all consuming. We are often focused on meeting the needs of others and can forget to put on our own oxygen masks and create space for self-care.
Self-care for educators is more than jeans on Fridays and weekend plans to relax and treat ourselves. While those things are nice, educators need practical strategies that can be embedded into our daily lives that nurture and sustain our physical and mental well-being.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about the power of self-compassion as a form of self-care. You’ll discover simple, yet powerful strategies to incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion practices into your day (including while teaching). Join us to explore personal and professional practices to avoid burnout and nurture well-being.
In this workshop, participants will:
- Discover practices and resources for preventing and alleviating burnout and for integrating self-compassion into everyday life (including while teaching)
- Leave the workshop with a toolbox of strategies to cultivate and nurture self-compassion personally and professionally
- Develop a greater awareness and understanding of self-compassion and how it can be practiced in community
