I wish there was mention in this document of the most common bullying, spanking children and other forms of harsh punishment. Children learn bullying behavior in their home environments. And the damage is even more profound, because it is a toxin within the parent-child relationship. Even children who are bullied themselves often are predisposed to tolerate such behavior due to their own experiences of harsh punishment at the hands of their own parents.
I often think about the way we call out children who are "bullies" and make a huge case over it, with all sorts of initiatives. Yet we make no mention of the source of it. I think of bullying as a splinter, while we have a plank in our own eye.
