Re: Conchella Valley, CA Is anyone from this area?

McKinley McPheeters ·
Maybe you have found something since posting this, but I used to live in Joshua Tree so am familiar with the area, but moved away two years ago. It looks like Riverside County is doing some work (possibly with the 4CA Campaign as well). Here are a few links: https://www.pacesconnection.com...fornia-county-groups (Riverside has an email of someone to contact) https://www.pacesconnection.com...Profile_2018_PDF.pdf http://www.4cakids.org/ Good luck!

Re: How are schools incorporating trauma informed practices, if they are at all?

Leisa Irwin ·
Hi Krys, I like that you are also working with the children about the "brain on stress." This is a component that we are adding this year. So far, we have been making all of these changes and the staff have been in the loop as to why we have made the changes, but for the most part, we have not talked to the students about "why" we are doing these things. They have not complained, they seem to be appreciating having more choices and more say in their education. But now that most of the...

I forgot to ask...has anyone done the Neurosequential Model in Education (NME) training through the Child Trauma Academy? It is very costly. I have considered trying to look for a grant to help pay for this if it is fantastic.

Guest speaker for professional development?

Amber Sams ·
Hello! Does anyone know of someone my district could bring in for a professional development session on ACES in education? We are located near Allentown, PA. We are interested in someone who could speak to all levels, k-12, but it wouldn't have to be all at once, and we have funding available from a grant. Thank you!

How Can We Make South Florida Schools Trauma Informed?

Natalia Garceau ·
Let's Make South Florida Schools Trauma Informed by Endorsing TIS Leaders! This is Natalia Garceau from Broward County, FL. Last February, in Washington, DC, l met so many wonderful, caring educators from all over the United States and abroad at the first ATN Conference for Creating Trauma-Sensitive Schools. Sadly, I was the only person from South Florida, and I was not sent to DC by my school district. I came there on my own to learn newest strategies of how to help traumatized children...

Use of COVID relief/stimulus funding for trauma-informed education

Just over a year ago, the CAREs Act passed with $13.2 billion in education relief funds for elementary and secondary schools among other education funding. Recently, the Federal Rescue Act was signed into law providing an additional $130 billion in funding for education that includes funds to address the impact of the pandemic on student education and well-being. This survey by Campaign for Trauma-Informed Policy and Practice (CTIPP) and PACEs Connection is seeking to find out if any of...

Would Anyone Like a Free Resource to Enhance Emotional Wellbeing for Educators

Robyn Hussa Farrell ·
Hello colleagues. I'm reaching out to see if anyone would like to participate in a pilot study looking to improve emotional wellbeing for educators through an evidence-based toolkit that includes improving social / emotional wellness and mental health literacy outcomes. You / your district would simply receive the toolkit at no cost and participants could attend (via email engagement campaign each week). At the end of the 12 weeks, participants would be asked to complete a feedback survey.
