What led you to work on ACEs?
When I was in college I tutored a 7th grader who was considered the "bad kid" in the class. With this label, the teachers and the other students didn't expect a lot from him. On top of that his father and his brothers were incarcerated and his mother's boyfriend was mistreating her. He assumed that one day he would go to prison like everyone else. I study the criminal justice system and ACEs to reduce the number of kids like him ending up in the criminal justice system.
