CTSHealth was established in 2001 as a continuity of care service in Charlotte, NC. They had an initial interest in foster care awareness which has ultimately led to additional service implementation. Most recently, these additional services included participation in Benchmarks’ SAP project. CTSHealth provides community support adult services, outpatient treatment services, and rehabilitative behavioral health services. They strive to implement trauma-informed and trauma-aware services by incorporating an individual’s natural supports and the community into the plan of care. The clinical views from employees at CTSHealth focus on person-centered care, systems of care, and trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy. More recently in North Carolina, CTSHealth has been diligently looking for creative strategies to expand their services in the Burke and Rutherford County area.
CTSHealth has a vision to improve the lives of the individuals they treat through whole person integrated care. They strongly value empowering and educating individuals to believe in their own potential, to have a voice, and to enrich their own lives. They recently began to carry out their mission and values through the SAP partnership with Rutherford and Burke County Departments of Social Services. This newly implemented protocol is facilitating partnership between CTSHealth and each county DSS with the goal of having each child in foster care, over the age of 4, screened for trauma, and if positive, referred for a Trauma Intensive Comprehensive Clinical Assessment (TiCCA). Through this process, each child in foster care who qualifies, will receive holistic recommendations to promote resiliency and positive outcomes following their traumatic experiences. CTSHealth has been enthusiastic about utilizing the TiCCA as a tool to benefit those that they serve in the Burke and Rutherford areas.
