In February, the Rowan Department of Social Services and Cardinal Innovations Healthcare partnership celebrated 5 years of moving children through the PFE Pathway. This Pathway uses a standardized process of screening, assessment, and treatment to help move some of our most vulnerable population, youth involved in child welfare, towards well-being.
In the past 5 years, the partnership has worked with more than 1,000 youth and families. By building partnerships throughout the community, children have been able to receive highly effective treatment and the community as a whole has been given a shared language regarding trauma and resiliency.
By focusing on what their shared goal, the Department of Social Services and Medicaid Managed Care Organization have developed a strong partnership. While the organizations are given different mandates and laws which often contradict one another, they are tasked with serving the same population. Only through bringing the professionals together are we able to ensure that those that we serve are given what they deserve, our best.
