Benchmarks’ Standardized Assessment Protocol project (SAP) would like to welcome Solid Foundations as the newest Trauma-intensive Comprehensive Clinical Assessment (TiCCA) provider! Bobby Fisher, owner of Solid Foundations stated, “Solid Foundations Counseling Center is always striving to improve our services and the care provided to our clients. Participating in the Benchmarks’ SAP allows us to expand on our Evidence Based Practices and to provide the best care to our clients and our communities.”
The Standardized Assessment Protocol’s overarching goal is for every youth, four years and older, entering foster care or in-Home Family Services to receive a standardized, trauma and evidence-informed assessment to ensure an appropriate diagnosis leading to proper service provisions with the purpose of improving child and family outcomes. Specifically, Benchmarks’ TiCCA is used as the clinical assessment.
The Benchmarks’ TiCCA assesses multiple domains of a child’s life and experiences to produce the most appropriate trauma-informed diagnoses and holistic recommendations. Solid Foundations Counseling Center is aware of the impact trauma has on children and families, especially for those involved in child welfare. Bobby stated “Sadly, almost everything we do now comes back to some type of trauma and abuse. Very few clients present with some mental health struggle that does not include a traumatic experience. It is important to address the trauma and assist the client with developing healthy coping skills to improve their overall well-being and relationships.”
Solid Foundations provides a variety of services to children and families in need across Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Polk, and Rutherford Counties. They offer these services in office, as well as in home and school-based settings. Their services include individual, couples, and family counseling, parenting education classes, domestic violence prevention classes, as well as substance abuse assessments and treatment. Now that they have been onboarded to Benchmarks’ SAP project, they will be able to offer TiCCA services to eligible recipients in Burke and Rutherford Counties. Fisher stated “TiCCAs allow us to get a better picture of the whole person and to coordinate with others to ensure a wholistic approach to client care.”
