Only 1/1000 have an ACE score of 9 or 10. In his new book, James Garbarino, shows us how we as society create killers through overwhelming ACEs . He is empathetic and paints a portrait of the reality most killers are untreated traumatized children in adult bodies. He shows us how "gross violations of the human rights of children ultimately so often lead to the most violent, inhumane acts by adults". This is an excellent book. Something that would be great for all to read. Tina
James Garbarino of Loyola University describes his efforts to bridge the gap in legal proceedings between the 'social history' typically provided by social work and the 'diagnosis' provided by clinical psychology. Garbarino reflects on his twenty years of experience as a psychological expert witness in murder cases to highlight the humanity we share with killers and the role of understanding and empathy in breaking the cycle of violence.
