Whilst I'm not promoting this book, I am trusting Chris Kresser, a 'functional nutritionist', in his 'endorsement' of Dr Kelly Brogan, to a degree at least. It was Chris Kresser who really started a conversation years ago about gut health, way before the mainstream medical cohort were embracing it. As to a Paleo diet, it's fraught with contentious toing and froing of its benefits, or lack thereof. Depends who you listen to! Chris Kresser seems to have a more nuanced approach to Paleo...
Anyway, I thought it was worth just looking at, as nutrition is part of what makes us healthy. But I believe that it is the feeling of taking control that is the most pertinent feature of one's health. Self care can be so lacking in people with high ACEs, etc. Bothering to care and be proactive can be a challenge. The 1 in 4 ration of women taking antidepressants that don't necessarily help, also encourages one to look elsewhere.
Though it focuses on women, I don't see why most wouldn't apply to men as well.
I hope this is seen as somewhat relevant! Part of the Toolkit of wellness - maybe!
