The webinar presents best practices data for measuring progress on discipline reform efforts in California school districts developed from the report by the CCRR, Disabling Inequity: The Urgent Need for Race-Conscious Resource Remedies, released in June 2020. It addresses the concerns regarding excessive discipline in alternative schools and presents preliminary findings about the 2019-2020 data released by the California Department of Education.
The webinar reviews the most recent federal data on school policing in California as featured in the CCRRβs report Disabling Inequity. Despite the statewide trends and the shortened school year, the report flags the districts whose suspension rates grew disparate during the 2019-2020 school year.
Thank you again and please do not hesitate to contact the Fix School Discipline team with any questions or feedback.
