Kidsdata.org, a program of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health, promotes the health and well being of children in California by providing an easy to use resource that offers high-quality, wide-ranging, local data to those who work on behalf of children.
Kidsdata.org allows users to easily find, customize, and use data on more than 600 measures of child health and well being. Data are available across California counties, cities, school districts, and legislative districts and cover many demographic descriptors including family income, race/ethnicity, and age. Every ACEs Connection California county community has a Child Adversity and Well-Being Data Dashboard which can be found on the right side of each county's ACEs Connection community home page. A product of the Essentials for Childhood Initiative (EfC), the Child Adversity and Well-Being Dashboards contain indicators of child adversity, health and well-being utilizing data available on kidsdata.org. California Children with 2 or More ACEs, Parent Reported (2016- 2018)
Definition: Estimated percentage of children ages 0-17 with and without adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), by number (e.g., in 2016-2018, 14.8% of California children had experienced two or more ACEs)
Data Source: Population Reference Bureau, analysis of data from the National Survey of Children's Health and the American Community Survey(Nov. 2019).
California & US Children with ACEs, Parent Reported (2016 - 2018)
Definition: Estimated percentage of children ages 0-17 with and without adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), by number (e.g., in2016-2018, 3.6% of California children had experienced four or more ACEs).

California Reports of Child Abuse & Neglect (2018)
Definition: Number of children with reports of abuse or neglect per 1,000 children ages 0-17 (e.g., in 2018, 52.9 per 1,000 California children were reported to have been abused or neglected).

California Children Who Are Resilient, Parent Reported (2016 - 2017)
Definition: Estimated percentage of children ages 6-17 who are calm and in control when facing a challenge (e.g., in 2016-2017, 57.3% of California children ages 6-17 were resilient).
