Public Health Advocates is pleased to invite you to submit presentation abstracts for the 2019 “Rooted in Community: Moving from Trauma to Healing” conference.
This year’s conference will take place in Long Beach, CA at the beautiful Hyatt Regency. For over 20 years Public Health Advocates has focused on promoting health and eliminating health disparities by transforming neighborhoods into places that nurture well-being. We believe that everyone has the right to be healthy and that good public policy can make health a reality for everyone.
The conference will focus on the root causes of trauma and explore how we embark on a journey to healing in our homes, communities, and nation.
Topics for abstracts are:
- “Healing from the Inside Out: Caring for ourselves as we care for others”
- “Redesigning Organizational Culture: What if supervisors really understood the impact of trauma on us and our Work?”
- “Healing Criminal Justice: Reforming A Failing System”
- “Trauma Informed Education: Schools on the Cutting Age”
- “Climate Change: Even Our Planet is Crying Out for Healing”
- “More than a Service Referral: Policies to Redesign the Role of Government”
Abstracts must be 300 words or less, selecting a topic from above, and outlining a 45-minute presentation. Group, panel, and interactive presentations are welcome. Please submit your abstract here. The submission deadline for all abstracts is August 16, 2019.
