The ACEs Conference Project Showcase is a unique way to focus a spotlight on current research, programs, tools or other initiatives that use ACEs science to address childhood adversity and its impact.
Before submitting, please consider the following:
- Project submissions should align with the conference theme of “Action to Access,” and its three intentions to Lift Up Stories, Inspire New Thinking, and Expand Access.
Lift Up Stories — Projects that enhance understanding and empathy of the issues that affect access to knowledge and resources to address childhood adversity, those that share professional and personal experiences to broaden understanding about ACEs, and remove barriers to healing.
Inspire New Thinking — Projects that highlight the most promising policies and practices in use across sectors and fields to increase interconnectedness and inspire bold solutions in support of preventing ACEs, healing trauma and creating community resilience.
Expand Access — Projects that demonstrate effective strategies to overcome barriers to knowledge and resources and that improve evaluation to ensure real impact across the movement.
- Projects can include research, programs, or tools (see guidelines for more information).
- All accepted presentations will be held concurrently during a 75-minute session block. The intention of this format is to allow participants and presenters to engage in dialogue.
- Presenters will be asked to prepare a visual display of their presentation and to provide handouts or other display items as appropriate, similar in concept to research poster presentations with flexibility in display modality and format. Creative and interactive displays are welcomed and encouraged; however, we cannot provide computers or televisions.
- This is not a marketplace, so neither products nor services can be sold during the Project Showcase. Distributing materials free of charge to participants is encouraged.
- One presenter for each selected project will be given free admission to the full conference; travel and lodging is at their own expense. Anyone else who wishes to accompany the selected presenter will be responsible for their own conference registration fees, and all travel and lodging expenses.
- All applicants will be notified by July 18.
