James Redford, who directed Resilience, will be doing a Q-and-A following the screening on Thursday. (He will not attend the Friday screening.)
Resilience premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday, Jan. 22, followed by several more screenings last week.
It will be followed by a Q-and-A with two people from Paper Tigers, the first documentary about ACEs that James Redford and Karen Pritzker produced --Former Lincoln High School Principal Jim Sporleder, and Kelsey, one of the students featured in the film. Paper Tigers follows six students during a school year at Lincoln High School in Walla Walla, WA, the first trauma-informed high school in the U.S. It has been screening to sold-out audiences around the U.S. since it premiered at the Seattle Film Festival last year.

RESILIENCE is a one-hour documentary that delves into the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the birth of a new movement to treat and prevent toxic stress. However, as experts and practitioners profiled in RESILIENCE are proving, what’s predictable is preventable. These physicians, educators, social workers and communities are daring to talk about the effects of divorce, abuse and neglect. And they’re using cutting-edge science to help the next generation break the cycles of adversity and disease.
Resilience was directed by Redford, written by Jen Bradwell, and stars
Nadine Burke Harris, Robert Anda, Jack Shonkoff, Laura Lawrence, David Johnson, Victor Carrion, Vincent Felitti, and Laura Porter.
The 61-minute documentary will also be screened at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the Fiesta 1.
