It was Emmy Greene’s father-in-law’s experiences as a foster child that inspired her to get involved with establishing Heart 2 Heart, the local group dedicated to helping aged-out foster and at-risk youth here in Solano County.
“He was put out of his house at age 12,” Greene said.
A kind-hearted neighbor who spotted him on the street gave him a roof over his head and the opportunity he needed to eventually become a successful adult and build a strong family himself.
When Heart 2 Heart founder Jodie Williams called up Greene more than two years ago, the Green Valley Realtor did not hesitate for a second before saying yes.
...“Last year, we had 10 graduate (from Solano Community College),” Greene said. “This year, there are 12 who are planning to graduate.”
Heart 2 Heart offers its clients a host of services, programs and referrals that run the gamut from providing them with food and other necessities of life such as clothes and appliances to cooking classes and workshops on how to handle finances.
