Good afternoon everyone,
California is facing a crisis: we rank near the bottom of states when it comes to our kids. And, education is where California is furthest behind other states.
Our K-12 schools have larger class sizes, fewer counselors and nurses, stripped-down course offerings, and fewer support services than almost every other state. Additionally, early learning has never been sufficiently prioritized. And, even with higher education, California, once heralded for its historic master plan, now trails many states in terms of investments and outcomes.
It’s time for a change.
Let’s ensure that all kids have the supports they need to promote their healthy development and learning, and prepare them for future success.
The Children's Movement of California is asking that you sign on to this letter urging the Governor and Legislature to place a revenue measure solely focused on education – quality child care, pre-school, K-12 and higher education – on the 2020 ballot.
*Please note that the sign-on letter campaign is only open to organizations, and we cannot sign on individuals. If you are affiliated with an organization and have the authority to do so, we encourage you to sign this letter on its behalf.
You are also welcome to send me an email, eespejo@childrennow.org, letting me know that you'd like your organization to be added as a signatory.
And of course happy to answer any questions.
Thank you for your consideration,
Eileen
