The spread of COVID-19 is impacting all of us and upending every aspect of our lives. It is particularly devastating, however, for vulnerable children and families that were in crises before this pandemic.
Far too many kids are not receiving the critical supports and services they need, and these inequities are only being exacerbated by our current situation. Moreover, during the last economic downturn, it was child-serving programs that experienced the most dramatic cuts in California. We can’t repeat that history.
Please take a couple of minutes to sign on to a letter urging state leaders to prioritize kids in the upcoming 2020-21 state budget.
As we emerge from this crisis, we must protect our most precious constituency – our kids – and make them the state’s top priority.
