View the toolkit for participating in the twitter action calling for California to formally declare racism as a public health crisis. This event will occur on Thursday, 7/16/20 from 10AM-Noon (PST). ACEs Connection is one of the recently added signatories to this effort.
From Toolkit:
"Background
Around 100 cities and counties across 20 states in the U.S. have declared racism as a public health crisis or emergency. More than 180 organizations signed onto our letter urging Governor Gavin Newsom to declare racism a public health crisis in California.
On Thursday, July 16th from 10 am to 12 pm (PT), co-authors of the letter, Black Women for Wellness Action Project, California Black Womenβs Health Project, Roots Community Health Center, Public Health Advocates, and California Pan-Ethnic Health Network will be hosting a Twitter Q&A with you on how systemic racism impacts health, why #RacismIsAPublicHealthCrisis and what courageous actions California must take from now on to move us to a just new future.
Through this Twitter Q&A, we hope to show the Governor and elected officials on why systemic racism is an ongoing public health crisis that needs systemic action. We invite you to join us for education and advocacy around Californiaβs state and local budget priorities and policy changes that our communities deserve now. As our State navigates multiple crises, we have an opportunity to reimagine and restructure a California that can work better for all of its residences, one that centers the dignity and humanity of all Californians."
