The Department of Health Care Services and the California Office of the Surgeon General are convening the Trauma-Informed Care Implementation Advisory Committee’s Provider Education and Engagement Subcommittee webinar on December 13, 2019, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The subcommittee members will discuss a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) that will be released for public comment as part of the ACEs Aware initiative.
The draft RFP invites external organizations to apply for grants to support provider training activities, provider engagement activities (such as webinars to share lessons learned), communications and outreach to providers, and in-person meetings to train providers and encourage the development of community linkages and referral networks.
The webinar is open to the public, and there will be an opportunity to provide public comment during the webinar. Public comments can also be submitted through this survey by Monday, December 16, at 5 p.m. PST. To register in advance for the webinar, please visit here.
The ACEs Aware initiative is a first-in-the-nation statewide effort to screen for childhood trauma and treat the impacts of toxic stress. The bold goal of this state-wide initiative is to reduce Adverse Childhood Experiences and toxic stress by half in a single generation, and to launch a national movement to ensure everyone is ACEs Aware.
