Generation Mixed Goes to School: Radically Listening to Multiracial Kids [embracerace.org]

Join this conversation about the particular experiences of multiracial kids at school - from the perspective of those kids and of the caregivers and teachers trying to support them. Educators and social justice movers Drs. Ralina Joseph and Allison Briscoe-Smith have been in community with many mixed-race kids and their caregivers and teachers, personally and professionally. They've listened to those experiences and collected them in their book, Generation Mixed Goes to School: Radically Listening to Multiracial Kids. They delve into "how the silencing and invisibility of their experiences often create a barrier for mixed-race kids to engage in nuanced conversations about race and identity in the classroom; and how teachers are finding powerful ways to make meaningful connections with their mixed-race students."

We're excited that Drs. Allison and Ralina will join us to share what they've heard and learned. We hope you do, too! As always, come with your questions and comments.
